Last year, ~3,000 runners from 32 countries and territories took to the streets of Chiang Mai. Now we're back for year two.
Run through historic Chiang Mai during Yi Peng - the festival of light - alongside an international community of runners and Bitcoin supporters. Chiang Mai has been one of Thailand's great cultural capitals for more than seven centuries, and 2026 marks its 730th anniversary. The race winds through the old walled city in the cool early morning of late November - the most beautiful time of year in the north, when paper lanterns rise into the sky for Yi Peng.
The Bitcoin Half Marathon is the only running event in Thailand built around the global Bitcoin community. Three distances - 5km, 10km, and 21.1km - all start and finish at Rot Fai Park. Race weekend includes a three-day Bitcoin Festival at the heart of Chiang Mai and a pre-race EXPO. Whether you're chasing a podium spot or running for the experience, you'll cross the line just as the city is waking up to Yi Peng morning.
